What I mean when I say I've been practicing art without a license since 1978 is that although I attended more than two or three art schools and even did some time in a university, I never did graduate with a degree. There was a generally held opinion among many of my generation that a piece of paper wasn't going to make you an artist. But if you want a personal history, or parts thereof, you're welcome to visit my blog. For now I'll just say I was born in England, raised in Canada and spent many years in the US. Yes, there were adventures that included several years in Europe.
I still draw and paint a lot, but when I'm not doing that I can often be found on the couch surrounded by many little vials and packages of beads. Although I've made necklaces, bracelets and earrings using other methods, my favorite technique is square stitch - a time consuming method that has the advantage of making strong and supple pieces that become more beautiful the closer you look.
